THE PROGRAM

Created during contract talks between the AICP (Association of Independent Commercial Producers) and the Directors Guild of America (DGA), the Commercial Directors Diversity Program (CDDP) reflects the commitment of both organizations to effect change and increase the representation of women directors and other historically under-represented groups specializing in commercials and marketing communications. The CDDP works to pair unsigned women directors and other historically under-represented groups with production companies, and to increase the number of these directors within the ranks of the DGA membership as well as increase the number of these groups signed to and working through commercial production companies.

After narrowing the pool to 20 Finalists, 5 participants will be selected by the CDDP Advisory Committee who will make their decision based on the directors online application. The program will last 3 months and unfold in 3 phases which include mentoring, networking, shadowing at a production company, a grant to create a spec commercial and a showcase of  the spec commercials directed by the participants.
