ABOUT Chad Howitt
Chad Howitt is a Los Angeles based Freelance Commercial Director. His early love of the arts came from his adolescent years spent working at tattoo parlors, video stores, and record shops. Focusing his skills, he went on to graduate from the Art Center College of Design with honors.
With over 10+ years of experience in the VFX industry, his work specializes in the combination of live action and CG with a commercial client list that includes notable brands such as Google, VW, Honda, Marvel, Ubisoft, The Grammys, and Westin Hotels.
“Welcome to The Last Bookstore”, was his first foray into documentary filmmaking. It has garnered several awards, and played at Academy Award Qualifying film festivals, including AFI and Cinequest. It has also been featured on NPR, The Atlantic, Newsweek, Boing Boing, chosen as a Vimeo Staff Pick, and Short of the Week.
Chad’s most recent narrative short, “From 35,000 feet / Praise Aviophobia”, is based on the poem by American Author Geffrey Davis, and recently premiered at the Walker Art Center Museum.
